Johns Hopkins and Penn State Capture Lacrosse Awards
ROSEMONT, Ill. – The Big Ten Conference has announced its men’s lacrosse player awards for games played April 19-20.
Offensive Player of the Week
TJ Malone, Penn State
Gr. — A — West Chester, Pa. — The Haverford School
Produced a five-point effort in Penn State’s 15-9 triumph of Rutgers in Piscataway, N.J.
Notched four goals (including the game-winner) and an assist for his seventh 5-point game of the season
Leads all Big Ten players with 61 points on 32 goals and 29 assists
The 2023 All-Big Ten First Team selection collects his third Big Ten Offensive Player Award of the season (second in a row) and the fourth of his career

Turned in a career-best night as 10th-ranked Penn State knocked off Rutgers, 15-9, on April 19
Gathered a career-high four ground balls and tied another personal-high with three caused turnovers
Helped the Nittany Lions’ defense hold the Scarlet Knights to just two goals over a 38-minute span between the first and fourth quarters
Captures the Big Ten Defensive Player award for the first time

Kept the visitors off the board for the final 23:51 of regulation in the Terrapin’s lowest scoring game since 2017
The former Cornell standout collects his first Specialist honor from the Big Ten

Earned the start on defense and played a role in limiting Maryland’s starting attack to two goals and two assists
Provided support in keeping the Terps scoreless for stretches of 12:29, 14:26 and 23:51
