Johns Hopkins, Maryland, Ohio State and Penn State Net Weekly Men’s Lacrosse Honors

Blue Jays’ Eye, Terrapins’ Spanos, Buckeyes’ Brown and Nittany Lions’ Fracyon win weekly accolades

ROSEMONT, Ill. – The Big Ten Conference has announced its Men’s Lacrosse Awards for the week of February 4-11, 2025.  

Offensive Player of the Week 
Eric Spanos, Maryland 
Senior – Attack – Pottstown, Pa. – Major: Communication 

  • In an overtime win against Loyola Maryland, Spanos tied his career-high with four goals
  • Three of his goals were in the fourth quarter to help Maryland erase a three-goal deficit in the final frame
  • Spanos also tallied two groundballs
  • Last Maryland Offensive Player of the Week Award: Jack Koras (April 2, 2024) 

Defensive Player of the Week 
Cullen Brown, Ohio State 
Junior – Defense – Silver Spring, Md.  – Major: Finance 

  • Caused six turnovers in two wins against Detroit Mercy and Cleveland State Led non-faceoff players with a combined seven ground balls in the two wins
  • Helped hold both Cleveland State and Detroit Mercy to just four goals
  • Currently leads the Big Ten with nine caused turnovers on the year
  • Last Ohio State Defensive Player of the Week Award: Cullen Brown (March 26, 2024)  

Specialist of the Week 
Jack Fracyon, Penn State 
Senior – Goalie – Annapolis, Md. – Major: Communication Arts and Sciences 

  • Allowed just five goals against Villanova
  • Marked the 23rd time in his career he let up less than 10 goals in a single game
  • Five goals are the third lowest number of goals he’s allowed in a single game in his career
  • Last Penn State Specialist of the Week Award: Jack Fracyon (March 12, 2024) 

Freshman of the Week 
Tyler Eye, Johns Hopkins 
Freshman – LSM – Jersey City, NJ – Major: Undecided 

  • Helped the Blue Jays to a pair of top 20 wins against #17 Towson and #10 Georgetown
  • Scored his first career goal, added two ground balls and caused two turnovers in an 11-10 win at Towson
  • Against Georgetown, helped lead a Blue Jay defense that held the Hoyas to just six goals
  • Last Johns Hopkins Freshman of the Week Award: Quintan Kilrain (March 26, 2024)
