Michigan, Nebraska, Ohio State and Rutgers Win Weekly Men’s Outdoor Track and Field Honors

Wolverines’ Brown, Buckeyes’ Brann, Scarlet Knights’ Robinson and Huskers’ Lamberts collect awards

ROSEMONT, Ill. – The Big Ten Conference has announced its Men’s Outdoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week for the week of April 22-29, 2026.  

Co-Track Athletes of the Week  
Miles Brown, Michigan 
Grad. – Mid-distance – Novi, Mich. – Major: Chemical Biology 

  • Ran a 1:43.84 split on the 800m leg of the DMR at the Penn Relays 
  • Marks the second fastest 800m split in the DMR in Penn Relays history 
  • Last Michigan Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week award: Tom Dodd (May 11, 2022)  

Braxton Brann, Ohio State 
Junior – Sprints – Ypsilanti, Mich. – Major: Psychology 

  • Was a part of both the Ohio State men's 4x100m relay and 4x400m relay squads that claimed Championship of America titles last weekend at the Penn Relays 
  • As the anchor leg in the 4x100m, he helped Ohio State to its first College Men's 4x100 Championship of America since 1932 
  • Also qualified for the men's 110m hurdle finals at the Penn Relays, winning his heat with a time of 13.76. 
  • Last Ohio State Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week award: Eric Harrison (April 27, 2022)  

Field Athlete of the Week 
Sincere Robinson, Rutgers 
Grad. – Jumps – Newark, N.J. – Major: Master of Political Science 

  • Won the COA long jump at the Penn Relays, becoming a two-time champion 
  • Jumped 7.65m (25-1 1/4) at Franklin Field  
  • Owns the No. 1 long jump distance in the Big Ten, ranks second nationally 
  • Last Rutgers Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week award: Rudy Winkler (April 4, 2018) 
     

Freshman of the Week 
Hencu Lamberts, Nebraska 
Freshman – Throws – Pretoria, South Africa – Major: Undeclared 

  • Hencu Lamberts won his shot put flight at the Drake Relays with a personal-best mark of 65-3 1/4 (19.89m) 
  • His throw ranks fourth in the Big Ten this season and No. 5 in the nation  
  • Lamberts moved up to No. 8 in school history 
  • Lamberts' second Outdoor Freshman of the Week Award. Last: April 1, 2026
