ROSEMONT, Ill. – The Big Ten Conference announced its 2024 women’s lacrosse all-conference teams on Wednesday, following a vote of the league’s head coaches. That same group will also be selecting the Big Ten’s individual award recipients, with that announcement to come next week.

Maryland leads the conference with eight All-Big Ten selections, including three with first team accolades, while Michigan and Northwestern have seven selections each.

Among the 32 honorees, five were unanimous choices by the coaches, Michigan defender Maddie Burns, Northwestern attackers Izzy Scane and Madison Taylor, Penn State midfielder Kristin O’Neill, and Rutgers midfielder Cassidy Spilis.

Burns was joined on the First Team by Michigan teammates attacker Kaylee Dyer, goaltender Erin O’Grady, and attacker Jill Smith, while three of Scane and Taylor’s teammates were also named to the First Team, attacker Erin Coykendall, midfielder Samantha White, and defender Kendall Halpern.

Maryland’s First Team honorees include attacker Eloise Clevenger, midfielder Shaylan Ahearn, and defender Meghan Ball. Defenders Jordan Carr from Johns Hopkins and Ellie Hollin from Penn State were also named to the First Team.

The Big Ten also recognized seven Sportsmanship Award recipients in the sport of women’s lacrosse on Wednesday, one from each conference school. The student-athletes chosen are individuals who have distinguished themselves through sportsmanship and ethical behavior. These student-athletes must also be in good academic standing and have demonstrated good citizenship outside of the sports-competition setting.
