Purdue, Rutgers and UCLA Share First Big Ten Softball Weekly Awards of 2026

Player of the Week 
Jordan Woolery, UCLA 
Sr. – INF – Walnut Creek, Calif. – Clayton Valley Charter High School 

• Went 10-for-15 (.667) with a team-high 14 RBI and five home runs, including a grand slam, in UCLA’s 5-0 start that featured five run-rule wins 
• Recorded multiple hits and homered at least once in four of her five starts 
• In UCLA’s season opener, Woolery went a combined 6-for-7 with nine RBI, two home runs and a grand slam 
• On Saturday, she recorded a pair of RBI base hits in UCLA’s second game of the day vs. Oregon State on a two-RBI double and solo home run  
• In the Bruins’ final game of the weekend vs. UC Riverside, Woolery hit a home run twice, contributing to the team’s historic eight home run tally that set a new UCLA single-game record

Pitcher of the Week 
Kelsey Hoekstra, Rutgers 
So. – P/UTL – Overland Park, Kan. – Shawnee Mission North 

• Went 2-0 in the circle with a no-hitter, leading Rutgers to a 3-2 opening weekend at the NFCA Leadoff Classic 
• Collected her first career no-hitter vs. North Carolina Central, striking out a career-high nine Eagles 
• Tossed four scoreless innings vs. South Alabama in a five-inning run-rule win 
• Last Rutgers Pitcher of the Week: Ella Harrison (March 10, 2025) 

Freshman of the Week 
Bella Douglas, Purdue 
UTL – Howell, Utah  – Bear River 

• Went 7-for-15 in collegiate debut weekend with a .467 average, including three doubles, two home runs, 11 RBI, while scoring eight runs to lead the Boilermakers to a 4-1 opening weekend 
• Slugged for 1.067 with a .600 on-base percentage earning five walks and 16 total bases 
• Recorded a home run as her first collegiate hit in Purdue’s victory over Cal Baptist 
• Hit a grand slam to lead the Boilermakers to a 15-1 victory over UNLV  
• Last Purdue Freshman of the Week: Ashlynn Campbell (March 4, 2024)
