UCLA, Nebraska and Northwestern Garner Big Ten Softball Weekly Awards

Player of the Week 
Kaniya Bragg, UCLA 
So. – INF – Garden Grove, Calif. – Pacifica  

• Reached base in seven of her eight plate appearances in Games 1 and 2 of UCLA’s series at Rutgers, both resulting in run-rule wins 
• Scored a team-high seven times in those eight plate appearances, with three RBI, two home runs and two walks 
• Recorded her second career multi-home run performance in Game 1 with a pair of opposite field home runs to right field

Pitcher of the Week 
Jordy Frahm, Nebraska 
Sr. – P – Papillion, Neb. – Papillion-La Vista  

• Threw 10.0 innings over the weekend with a win and a save 
• Earned the win on Friday after tossing a complete-game shutout with only two hits to go along with 12 strikeouts 
• Limited opponents to a .114 batting average, totaling 15 strikeouts across 10 innings pitched, allowing just four hits and zero runs 
• Last Nebraska Pitcher of the Week: Alexis Jensen (March 16, 2026) 

Freshman of the Week 
Marina Mason, Northwestern 
P – Brentwood, Tenn. – Brentwood  

• Pitched two 7.0 inning complete games and threw a no-hitter as Northwestern swept its road series at Illinois 
• Posted a 0.50 ERA (1 ER/14.0 IP) and a .044 opponent batting average while striking out 10  
• Carried a no-hit bid into the seventh inning in Friday’s 6-1 win over Illinois 
• In her next outing on Sunday, tossed her first-career no-hitter in 7.0 innings, throwing 111 pitches and striking out three en route to a 5-0 victory  
• Marked Northwestern’s 54^th no-hitter in program history, first in conference play since 2021, first by a Northwestern freshman since 2011 and first 7.0 inning no-hitter by a Wildcat freshman since 2007 
• Last Northwestern Freshman of the Week: Emma Raye (May 6, 2024)
