Wisconsin, Ohio State and Washington Earn Big Ten Softball Weekly Awards

Badgers’ Blomberg, Buckeyes’ Molk and Huskies’ Ramuno and Burdick share weekly awards

Player of the Week 
Hilary Blomberg, Wisconsin 
Jr. – C – Verona, Wis. – Verona 

  • Helped the Badgers to a series sweep over Maryland, going 6-for-8 (.750) including three home runs, seven RBI, 15 total bases and three walks 
  • Went 4-for-4 in the opening game of the series, including three RBI and a home run  
  • Blomberg’s third home run of the week was a three-run homer to walk it off for the Badgers in the 12-3 run-rule win in the series finale  
  • Recorded a 1.875 slugging percentage and a .833 on-base percentage  
  • Last Wisconsin Player of the Week: Kayla Konwent (March 9, 2020) 

 

Co-Pitcher of the Week 
Jenna Molk, Ohio State 
Fr. – P – Dover, Ohio – Dover 

  • Pitched 17 innings, not allowing a single run in a series sweep over Michigan State, allowing just eight hits and holding opposing batters to a .133 batting average in the three games  
  • Struck out 16 batters in 23.0 innings pitched in the Michigan State series and a win over Cal Struck out a career-high eight against Cal  
  • Earned the win in all four starts for the week 
  • Last Ohio State Pitcher of the Week: Lorin Boutte (Feb. 10, 2025) 

 

Co-Pitcher of the Week 
Sophia Ramuno, Washington 
Sr. – P – San Diego, Calif. – Helix 

  • Combined with Rylee Rehbein to toss a no-hitter against Iowa, posting a 0.00 ERA in two wins that included two shutouts (at Loyola Chicago and at Iowa)  
  • Pitched 11.2 innings, allowing three hits, zero runs, four walks and striking out 18 in two appearances  
  • Helped the Huskies win their 20th-straight game and improve to 12-0 in conference play 
  • Last Washington Pitcher of the Week: Stevie Hansen (March 3, 2025) 


Freshman of the Week 
Kaycie Burdick, Washington 
OF – Pleasanton, Calif. – Foothill 

  • Hit .526) 10-for-19 in four Husky wins that included a series sweep at Iowa and a win at Loyola Chicago  
  • Tallied first career home run with a grand slam at Loyola Chicago (7-0 Husky win), totaling seven RBI on the week with 10 hits, 14 total bases and one walk  
  • Recorded four straight hits in a 10-6 extra inning win at Iowa, a career-best in hits for the leadoff batter 
  • Last Washington Freshman of the Week: Alexis DeBoer (May 5, 2025)
