UCLA, Northwestern and Purdue Share Big Ten Softball Weekly Awards

Bruins’ Woolery, Wildcats’ Mason and Boilermakers’ Moore claim weekly honors

Player of the Week
Jordan Woolery, UCLA
Sr. – INF – Walnut Creek, Calif. – Clayton Valley Charter High School

  • Went 11-for-15 with seven home runs, including three separate two home-run games, with 16 RBI across UCLA’s four wins against California Baptist, Long Beach State and California
  • Woolery posted a pair of two-homer performances on the same day in UCLA’s double-header sweep of California on Saturday, finishing 6-for-7 with four home runs, 10 RBIs and five runs scored.
  • Woolery’s first home run in game one against the Golden Bears was a three-run shot that broke UCLA’s single-season program record of 91 RBIs, previously set by Stacey Nuveman in 1999. Her second homer of the day marked UCLA’s 148th of the season, breaking the Big Ten single-season team home run record set by Ohio State last year. Woolery finished Game 1 4-for-4 with a career-high seven RBIs, which is tied for third-most in a single game in UCLA history
  • Woolery’s two home runs in game two against Cal pushed her season total to 30. She and Megan Grant became the first teammates in NCAA Division I history to each hit 30 or more home runs in the same season
  • Woolery’s 10-RBI day on Saturday brought her to the century mark for the season, making her the fifth player in NCAA Division I history to record a 100-RBI campaign
  • Woolery opened the week by going 3-for-3 with her first of three two-homer performances against California Baptist on Tuesday. The next day, she went 2-for-5 with a grand slam at Long Beach State, helping the Bruins tie the program single-game record for runs scored with 27
  • Last UCLA Player of the Week: Kaniya Bragg (March 23, 2026)

Pitcher of the Week
Marina Mason, Northwestern
Fr. – P – Brentwood, Tenn. – Brentwood

  • Led the Wildcats in the circle during their weekend series sweep over Michigan State, going 3-0 over the weekend with 13 strikeouts and a pair of complete game shutouts in each of her two starts
  • Mason did not allow a run in 11.2 innings pitched and limited Spartan batters to a .125 opposing average throughout the weekend
  • On Friday, Mason carried a no-hitter into the fourth inning en route to a one-hit shutout, striking out six in 5.0 innings of work
  • In Saturday's outing, she entered in relief and allowed two hits in 1.2 innings of work, ultimately stranding the tying run on third base in the seventh inning with a game-sealing strikeout
  • Making her second start of the weekend on Sunday, Mason tossed six strikeouts in 5.0 innings and retired 15 of the 18 batters she faced en route to a two-hit shutout
  • Mason's five complete game shutouts on the year are tied for second among all Big Ten Pitchers and are now tied for the most by a Northwestern pitcher since Ashley Miller in 2024
  • Last Northwestern Pitcher of the Week: Ashley Miller (April 22, 2024)
