Huskers win outright Big Ten title for first time in program history
ROSEMONT, Ill. - With a pair of wins over Penn State, Nebraska softball improved to 42-6 with a 22-1 mark in Big Ten play, clinching the outright Big Ten regular season championship. It’s Nebraska’s first outright Big Ten championship in program history, as the Huskers shared the title with Michigan in 2014.
The Huskers are on a 17-game win streak, the nation’s longest active streak, and have won 31 of their last 32 games. The streak ties as the fourth-longest in program history.
Nebraska will finish its series at Penn State on Sunday at noon ET on Big Ten Network, then heads to Maryland for the Big Ten Softball Tournament presented by Allstate, scheduled for May 6-9.
