Michigan Wins Second Consecutive Big Ten Softball Tournament Championship
Wolverines shutout Bruins, 2-0, for conference-leading 12th tournament championship

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Michigan won its second consecutive Big Ten Softball Tournament Championship on Saturday with a 2-0 shutout victory over UCLA at Bittinger Stadium. Saturday’s victory was a conference-leading 12th Big Ten Tournament title for the Wolverines.
Jenissa Conway broke a scoreless tie in the top of the sixth inning with a double to center field, scoring Indiana Langford. Two batters later, Ella Stephenson singled to shortstop and scored Conway. Lauren Derkowski tossed five shutout innings, allowing just three hits and Erin Hoehn threw two innings of scoreless relief.
Derkowski was named the tournament’s Most Outstanding Player and was selected to the All-Tournament Team. The complete list of this year’s All-Tournament Team can be found below.
Michigan (38-19) will receive the conference’s automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament, which begins next week. The complete NCAA Tournament bracket will be revealed on Sunday, May 11 at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN2.
