Illini rookie captures Golfer and Freshman honors after maiden victory in Madison
ROSEMONT, Ill. – University of Illinois freshman Alexis Myers has been named the Big Ten Golfer and Freshman of the Week for tournaments from September 12-18.

- Won the 2025 Badger Invitational hosted at University Ridge Golf Course in Madison, Wisconsin
- Fired a 9-under 207 (73-67-67) in just her second collegiate appearance to win by one stroke
- Ranked among the tournament’s Top-4 in scoring on Par-3, Par-4 and Par-5 holes, and ranked second in the field with 14 birdies
- Led the Illini to a decisive 13-stroke victory in the team competition, marking the first time Illinois won a tournament and was below par in every round since the 2017-18 Mercedes-Benz Collegiate Championship
