Michigan State Sweeps Women’s Golf Weekly Awards

ROSEMONT, lll. – Michigan State senior Taylor Kehoe has been named Big Ten Golfer of the Week, and teammate Lucia Valderrama earned Freshman of the Week, for tournaments from October 9-16. 

Golfer of the Week 
Taylor Kehoe, Michigan State 
Senior – Strathroy, Ontario, Canada – Strathroy District Collegiate Institute – Public Relations 

• Finished in sixth place at 1-under par 143 (71-72) at the St Andrews Links Collegiate 
• The senior, who closed with an even-par 72, was tied for fourth place in the field with seven birdies and tied for 10^th place with 23 pars 
• Posted a 5up win in match play 

Freshman of the Week 
Lucia Valderrama, Michigan State 
Freshman – Valencia, Spain – Blume Elite High School – Agriculture & Natural Resources 

• Tied for 21^st place at the St Andrews Links Collegiate with a 13-over par 157 (78-79) 
• The rookie posted a 1up win in match play 
• Recorded three birdies throughout the two rounds
