Maryland’s Janthamunee, Purdue’s Valero Earn Women’s Golf Honors
Terrapins senior led team to first win since 2020
ROSEMONT, Ill. – Maryland senior Surapa Janthamunee has been named the Big Ten Women’s Golfer of the Week, while Purdue’s Luana Valero was honored as Freshman of the Week, for tournaments from October 17-23.

Senior – Phuket, Thailand – PSU Wittayanusorn School – Sociology
- Fired a 1-under 209 (71-69-68) to finish T2 at the Evie Odom Invitational hosted at Princess Anne Country Club in Virginia Beach
- Led the Terrapins to their first team title since 2020
- Season-best 209 included eight birdies and 39 pars, one off the tournament lead
Freshman of the Week
Luana Valero, Purdue
Freshman – Medellin, Colombia – Gimnasio La Khumbre – Marketing
- Carded a career-best 218 (71-73-74) at the Ruth’s Chris Tar Heel Invitational hosted at UNC Finley Golf Club in Chapel Hill, North Carolina
- Recorded her team-leading third eagle of the season during the second round on the 536-yard, Par-5 15th
- Helped lead Purdue to a team finish ahead of No. 2 Wake Forest
