Oregon's Romero, Nebraska's Rookies Earn Weekly Women's Golf Honors

ROSEMONT, Ill. – Oregon junior Kiara Romero has been named the Big Ten Women’s Golfer of the Week, while Nebraska’s Kaleigh Babineaux and Ailis Tribolet shared Freshman of the Week honors, for tournaments from February 19-25.

Kiara Romero, Oregon

Junior – San Jose, California

·       Set a new Oregon record with her fifth career tournament win at the Chevron Collegiate hosted at The Golf Club of Houston

·       Opened with a 6-under 66 and carded an 11-under 205 for the tournament, finishing four shots clear of the field

·       Now owns five Top-3 finishes in six starts during the 2025-26 season

Kaleigh Babineaux, Nebraska

Freshman – Austin, Texas – Lake Travis – PGA Golf Management

·       Signed a career-best 207 (-9) to lead the Huskers and earn a share of sixth-place at the Westbrook Spring Invitational hosted at Westbrook Village Golf Club in Peoria, Arizona

·       Closed the best performance of her collegiate career with a final round 5-under 67

·       Posted her fifth straight Top-25 result, and the first Top-10 finish of her career

·       Helped Nebraska to fourth-place on the team leaderboard ahead of four Big Ten competitors

Ailis Tribolet, Nebraska

Freshman – Chandler, Arizona – Valley Christian – Mechanical Engineering

·       Carded a career-best 207 (-9) to lead the Huskers and earn a share of sixth-place at the Westbrook Spring Invitational hosted at Westbrook Village Golf Club in Peoria, Arizona

·       Finished all three rounds under par, including a collegiate-best 5-under 67 in the opening round

·       Earned a second consecutive Top-7 finish this spring, following her performance at the Texas Golf Throwdown

·       Helped Nebraska to a fourth-place team finish ahead of four Big Ten competitors
