Northwestern Claims Weekly Golf Award

ROSEMONT, Ill. – Northwestern junior Lauryn Nguyen has been named Big Ten Conference Women’s Golfer of the Week for tournaments played Oct. 2-4.

Lauryn Nguyen, Northwestern

Jr. – Seattle, Wash. — West Seattle

  • Finished with an 11-under-par 205 to claim medalist honors at the Windy City Collegiate Classic, held Oct. 2-3 at Glen View Club in Golf, Ill.

  • Shot par-or-better on 48 holes, compiling 33 pars, 13 birdies and a pair of eagles

  • Her 205 score matched the second-lowest 54-hole total in the Big Ten this season

  • Helped Northwestern to a second-place finish in a field that featured nine teams ranked in the top 25 by Golfweek

  • The 2023 All-Big Ten First Team selection earns her second career weekly award
