Chan, Kanpai & Sy Share Golfer Of The Week Honors

ROSEMONT, Ill. – Wisconsin junior Chloe Chan, Maryland sophomore Nicha Kanpai and Illinois senior Isabel Sy shared Big Ten Women’s Golfer of the Week plaudits after all three earned medalist honors during the week of February 22-27, 2024.

Chloe Chan, Wisconsin

Junior – Hong Kong – King George V School – Physical Geography and Cartography & GIS

• Carded a final round 65 to win the 2024 Westbrook Invitational, hosted at Westbrook Village Golf Club (Peoria, Ariz.)

• Established a Badgers 54-hole individual scoring record for individuals with a 202 (66-71-65=202), including 16 birdies, a seven-stroke improvement of the previous mark Wisconsin

• Led Wisconsin to a Top-3 spot on the leaderboard, as they shot 18-hole (270), 36-hole (560) and 54-hole (830) team scoring records

• Last Wisconsin Golfer of the Week: Tess Hackworthy (9/25/19)

Nicha Kanpai, Maryland

Sophomore – Chiang Rai, Thailand – Chiang Rai International School – Nutrition & Food Science

• Earned co-medalist honors at the 2024 Chevron Collegiate, hosted at the Golf Club of Houston

• Birdied four of her final eight holes to finish 12-under (69-66-69=204)

• Ranked second in the 89-player field on the course’s Par-4 holes, going 8-under over three rounds, and ranked second with 17 birdies overall

• Led the Terrapins to a runner-up result (-29; 835) on the team leaderboard

• Last Maryland Golfer of the Week: Patricie Mackova (4/19/23)

Isabel Sy, Illinois

Senior – San Gabriel, Calif. – Troy – Kinesiology

• Earned co-medalist honors at the 2024 Chevron Collegiate, hosted at the Golf Club of Houston, for her first collegiate win

• Carded four birdies and 14 pars in the final round to finish 12-under (71-65-68=204)

• Led the 89-player field with a 10-under performance on the course’s Par-4 offerings

• Recorded her fifth-straight Top-5 finish, a streak that began with a T4 result at the Windy City Collegiate on Oct. 3, 2023
