Trio Of Medalists Share Golfer of the Week Honors

ROSEMONT, Ill. – Michigan senior Monet Chun, Maryland senior Patricie Mackova and Rutgers senior Rikke Nordvik have been named Big Ten Women’s Golfers of the Week for tournaments played during the week of April 4 – April 10, 2024.

Golfers of the Week

Monet Chun, Michigan

Senior – Richmond Hills, Ontario – Richmond Green Secondary – Movement Science

• Won medalist honors at the Chattanooga Classic hosted at Council Fire Golf Club

• Highlighted by a tournament-record 61 in R2, carded a 10-under 203 (a U-M record) to win by two strokes

• Helped lead the Wolverines to the team title, their first of the season and sixth under head coach Jan Dowling

• Last Michigan Golfer of the Week: Monet Chun (4/19/23)

Patricie Mackova, Maryland

Senior – Prague, Czech Republic – Biochemistry

• Picked up her first win of the year at the Texas Showdown hosted at the Dallas Athletic Club Blue Course

• Won the 36-hole stroke play title firing an opening round 69 before tying a season-low with a 66, carding 12 birdies and just three bogeys over two rounds

• Led Maryland to the No. 2 seed for match play, and won her semifinal match 3&2 to help the Terrapins to a championship match appearance

• Last Maryland Golfer of the Week: Nicha Kanpai (2/28/24)

Rikke Nordvik, Rutgers

Senior – Stavanger, Norway – Wang Toppidrett Stavanger – Economics & Environmental Studies

• Led wire-to-wire to win the Rutgers Invitational hosted at the Rutgers University Golf Course

• Fired a 214 (69-74-71) to win the tournament by four strokes, leading the field in Par-3 and Par-5 scoring

• Led the Scarlet Knights to victory at their home tournament
