Big Ten Conference Announces Women’s Golf Preseason Honors
Thirty-nine student-athletes featured on Golfers to Watch List
ROSEMONT, lll. – The Big Ten Conference announced Thursday preseason honors for 39 student-athletes who were included on the Big Ten Women’s Golfers to Watch List.
The Watch List includes 13 golfers who earned All-Big Ten honors in 2022-23. Returning First Team selections include: Nicha Kanpai and Patricie Mackova from Maryland; Dianna Lee, Jieni Li and Lauryn Nguyen of Northwestern; and Ohio State’s Caley McGinty.
All-Big Ten Second Team performers coming back this season are: Hailey Borja and Monet Chun of Michigan, Valentina Rossi of Michigan State, Isabella McCauley of Minnesota, Kelli Ann Strand of Nebraska, Kary Hollenbaugh of Ohio State and Momo Sugiyama from Purdue.
Eight Big Ten schools qualified for NCAA Regionals last spring. The 2023-24 season begins next week (Sept. 4-5) with Indiana, Minnesota, Purdue and Rutgers competing at the Boilermaker Invitational.
