Northwestern, Oregon, Maryland, and Michigan Score Women’s Lacrosse Weekly Awards

Wildcats’ Taylor, Ducks’ Simmons, Terps’ Suriano, and Wolverines’ Johnson open 2026 campaign with weekly honors

Offensive Player of the Week 
Madison Taylor, Northwestern
Sr. – A – Wantagh, N.Y. – Wantagh

  • Tallied 17 points on 11 goals and six assists, eight draw controls and four caused turnovers, as the Wildcats split a pair of games
  • Registered five goals and tied her career-high with four assists in 20-12 win at No. 3 Boston College
  • Scored six goals, two helpers, five draw controls and a pair of caused turnovers in a 10-9 loss to Colorado
  • Scores her eighth career Offensive Player of the Week honor
  • Last Northwestern Offensive Player of the Week: Madison Taylor (April 21, 2025)

Midfielder of the Week
Anna Simmons, Oregon
Sr. – M – North Bend, Wash. – Mount Si

  • Scored four goals in a 12-11 win over Arizona State
  • Posted the final two goals in regulation to send the game to overtime, where she converted a game-winning free position goal with 15 seconds left
  • Added five draw controls, four ground balls, and two caused turnovers in the win
  • Nabs her fourth career Midfielder of the Week award
  • Last Oregon Midfielder of the Week: Anna Simmons (February 25, 2025)

Defensive Player of the Week  
JJ Suriano, Maryland
Jr. – GK – Baltimore, Md. – Bryn Mawr

  • Recorded 16 saves in a 9-5 win at No. 13 Syracuse, including five stops in the third quarter alone
  • Held the Orange to just 1-9 on free position shots in the win
  • Earns her second career Defensive Player of the Week accolade
  • Last Maryland Defensive Player of the Week: JJ Suriano (March 11, 2025)

Freshman of the Week  
Elizabeth Johnson, Michigan
GK – Concord. N.H. – St. Paul’s School  

  • Notched 15 saves and two ground balls in a 12-10 loss at No. 25 Notre Dame
  • 15 saves ranks fourth all-time in Michigan single-game history
  • Notches her first Freshman of the Week award
  • Last Michigan Freshman of the Week: Caroline Byrd (March 4, 2025)
