Northwestern, Johns Hopkins, and Penn State Garner Women’s Lacrosse Weekly Honors

Wildcats’ Taylor, Blue Jays’ Downey and O’Brien, and Nittany Lions’ Allen score weekly accolades

Offensive Player of the Week 
Madison Taylor, Northwestern
Sr. – A – Wantagh, N.Y. - Wantagh

  • Posted 12 points on nine goals and three assists to go with eight draw controls, two ground balls, and a caused turnover as No. 2 Northwestern scored a pair of wins to close the regular season
  • Notched eight points with six goals and four draw controls in the Wildcats’ 18-6 win over Rutgers
  • Scored three goals with four draw controls in a 9-7 win at then-No. 11 Michigan, including a pair of four quarter markers that tied the score and the eventual game-winner
  • Claims her 10th career Offensive Player of the Week honor and third of the season

 Midfielder of the Week

  • Recorded four points, two ground balls, and a caused turnover to help No. 5 Johns Hopkins to a come-from-behind 10-9 overtime win at then-No. 19 Penn State
  • Scored a goal with 59 seconds left in the fourth quarter to spark the Blue Jays’ comeback
  • Tallied the game-winning goal midway through the overtime period
  • Nabs her sixth Midfielder of the Week award of the season and third in a row

Defensive Player of the Week

  • Anchored the Blue Jays’ defensive effort in Thursday’s overtime win at Penn State
  • Caused seven turnovers and scooped six ground balls
  • Moved into second place on the NCAA career caused turnover list (233), just two off the career mark held by Wagner’s Shea Gegan (2013-16)
  • Earns her fourth career Defensive Player of the Week accolade
