Big Ten Announces 2026 Women’s Lacrosse All-Conference Honors
ROSEMONT, Ill. – The Big Ten Conference announced its 2026 women’s lacrosse all-conference teams on Tuesday, following a vote of the league’s head coaches. That same group will also be selecting the Big Ten’s individual award recipients, with that announcement to come next week.
Michigan and Northwestern lead the conference with seven total selections, including a combined five First Team honors, while both Johns Hopkins and Maryland claim five honorees each.
Among the 33 honorees, four were unanimous choices by the coaches, Johns Hopkins midfielder Lacey Downey and defender Reagan O’Brien and Maryland midfielder Kori Edmondson and attacker Lauren Lapointe.
Joining the quartet on the First Team are fellow Blue Jay Ava Angello, Maryland’s Kayla Gilmore, Maddy Sterling, and JJ Suriano, the Michigan trio of Emma Burke, Grace Callahan, and Jordyn Harrison, Noel Cumberland and Madison Taylor from Northwestern, Penn State’s Maggie Driver and Delaney Radin, and Rutgers’ Katie Buck.
The Big Ten also announced its 2026 All-Freshman Team, recognizing the league’s top first year players. The 12 team members include unanimous selections Paige Willard from Johns Hopkins, Elizabeth Johnson from Michigan, Kate Ratanaproeksa from Northwestern, Rocquette Allen from Penn State, and Kate Theofield from Rutgers.
The conference also recognized nine Sportsmanship Award recipients in the sport of women’s lacrosse on Tuesday, one from each conference school. The student-athletes chosen are individuals who have distinguished themselves through sportsmanship and ethical behavior. These student-athletes must also be in good academic standing and have demonstrated good citizenship outside of the sports-competition setting.
