Big Ten Announces 2023 Women's Lacrosse Tournament Bracket

ROSEMONT, Ill. – The Big Ten Conference announced the 2023 Big Ten Women’s Lacrosse Tournament bracket on Saturday. The Big Ten Tournament will feature a seven-team field and will begin with three quarterfinal games that will be played on the campus of the higher seeds on Saturday, April 29.
Northwestern claimed the No. 1 seed after going a perfect 6-0 in Big Ten Conference play. Ranked No. 2 in the latest Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) poll, the Wildcats won the outright Big Ten Championship on Saturday, scoring a 13-6 win over No. 12 Maryland to earn the program’s second Big Ten title.
Along with the No. 1 seed, Northwestern (15-1) has earned a first round bye and will open tournament play on Thursday, May 4 with a semifinal contest at the Ohio State Lacrosse Stadium in Columbus, Ohio.
The tournament will open on Saturday, April 29 with three quarterfinal games, with the winners advancing to the semifinal round.
No. 2 seed Maryland (12-5, 4-2 Big Ten) will play host to No. 7 Ohio State (5-11, 0-6), with No. 3 seed Johns Hopkins (8-7, 4-2) welcoming No. 6 seed Rutgers (7-7, 1-5) to Baltimore. No. 5 seed Penn State (11-5, 3-3) will also travel to No. 4 Michigan (10-6, 3-3) in Saturday’s quarterfinal round.
Time for Saturday’s quarterfinal match-ups have not yet been announced.
Semifinal contests are slated to begin at 6 p.m. (ET) and 8:30 p.m. (ET) on May 4 in Columbus, with the championship scheduled for 8 p.m. on Saturday, May 6. All three contests will be broadcast live on BTN and the FOX Sports app.
The winner of this year’s Big Ten Tournament will earn the conference’s automatic berth into the NCAA Championship, with that bracket announced at 9 p.m. (ET) May 7 live on ESPNU.
