Northwestern, Rutgers, John Hopkins Score Weekly Women’s Lacrosse Honors

ROSEMONT, Ill. – The Big Ten Conference has announced this week’s Women’s Lacrosse Weekly Awards for the week of April 2-8.

Offensive Player of the Week 

Madison Taylor, Northwestern

So. – A – Wantagh, N.Y. – Wantagh – Major: Human Development in Context

• Posted seven points and pair of draw controls to lead No. 1 Northwestern to a 17-9 win at No. 4 Maryland

• Scored a career-best six goals in the victory

• Scores her first career Offensive Player of the Week honor

• Last Northwestern Offensive Player of the Week: Izzy Scane (March 5, 2024)

Midfielder of the Week

Cassidy Spilis, Rutgers

Grad. – M – Tabernacle, N.J. – Seneca – Major: Master’s in Education

• Totaled 10 goals, 11 draw controls, six caused turnovers, and three ground balls as Rutgers split a pair of games.

• Tallied five goals, four draw controls, two caused turnovers and a ground ball in a 14-8 win over Hofstra.

• Added five goals, seven draw controls, four caused turnovers and two ground balls in a 13-12 overtime loss to  No. 8 Johns Hopkins

• Nabs her eighth career Midfielder of the Week award and fifth of the season

• Last Rutgers Midfielder of the Week: Cassidy Spilis (March 5, 2024)

Defensive Player of the Week  

Jordan Carr, Johns Hopkins

Sr. – D – Port Deposit, Md. – Perryville – Major: Public Health

• Posted three caused turnovers, three ground balls, three draw controls and an assist, as No. 8 Johns Hopkins rallied for a 13-12 overtime win at Rutgers

• Earns her third career Defensive Player of the Week accolade
