Michigan, Penn State, and Northwestern Score Weekly Women’s Lacrosse Honors

ROSEMONT, Ill. – The Big Ten Conference has announced this week’s Women’s Lacrosse Weekly Awards for the week of March 12-18.
 
Offensive Players of the Week 
Kaylee Dyer, Michigan
Jr. – A – Elkins Park, Pa. – William Penn Charter

• Totaled 10 points to lead the No. 3 Wolverines to wins over Rutgers and Penn
• Scored a career-high six goals and added two assists in a 13-10 victory at Rutgers
• Added a goal and an assists in Michigan’s 6-5 win at then-No. 15 Penn
• Scored her first Offensive Player of the Year honor
• Last Michigan Offensive Player of the Week: Jill Smith (March 7, 2023)

 
Midfielder of the Week
Kristin O’Neill, Penn State
Sr. – M – Odenton, Md. – Archbishop Spalding

• Paired six points, four draw controls, and two caused turnovers, as Penn State scored wins over Lehigh and Cornell
• Recorded the second quarter goal that put Penn State ahead for good in a 9-7 win at Lehigh
• Scored four goals, including the eventual game-winner in the Nittany Lions’ 12-11 win at Cornell
• Nabs her second career Midfielder of the week award
• Last Penn State Midfielder of the Week: Kristin O’Neill (March 15, 2022)

 
Defensive Player of the Week  
Erin O’Grady, Michigan
Gr. – GK – Port Deposit, Md. – Perryville

• Record 15 saves last week, as No. 3 Michigan scored wins over Rutgers and Penn
• Stopped a career-best 13 saves in a 13-10 win at Rutgers
• Added 12 stops, including three in the fourth quarter, in a 6-5 win at No. 16 Penn   
• Earns her third Defensive Player of the Week accolade of the season
• Last Michigan Defensive Player of the Week: Erin O’Grady (Feb. 27, 2024)

 
Freshman of the Week  
Madison Smith, Northwestern

• Secured four draw controls in No. 1 Northwestern’s 14-9 win over No. 10 Johns Hopkins
• Collects her second consecutive Freshman of the Week honor
