Maryland, Rutgers, Michigan, and Ohio State Share Weekly Women’s Lacrosse Honors

ROSEMONT, Ill. – The Big Ten Conference has announced this week’s Women’s Lacrosse Weekly Awards for the week of February 13-19, 2024.
Offensive Players of the Week
Hannah Leubecker, Maryland
Grad. – A – Forest Hill, Md. – Homeschooled – Major: Communications, Family Science
- Tallied three goals as No. 5 Maryland scored a victory at then-No. 5 Syracuse 9-8 in overtime
- Scored the game-tying goal with 8:09 to play in the fourth quarter, then scored the game-winner with 2:13 left in the extra frame
- Garners her third career Offensive Player of the Week award

Midfielder of the Week
Cassidy Spilis, Rutgers
Grad. – M – Tabernacle, N.J. – Seneca – Major: Master’s in Education
- Posted six points and five goals on just seven shots, as No. 24 Rutgers topped Georgetown 13-6
- Added five draw controls, a ground ball, and a caused turnover in the win
- Became the first player in school history to surpass 200 career goals
- Earns her sixth Midfielder of the Week award and second in a row

Defensive Player of the Week?
Erin O’Grady, Michigan
Jr. – GK – Massapequa, N.Y. – St. Anthony’s – Major: Sport Management
- Totaled 21 saves on the week, as No. 6 Michigan toppled Cincinnati and then-No. 4 Denver
- Posted eight saves in just under 40 minutes of action in a 14-4 win at Cincinnati
- Tallied a career-best 13 saves and five ground balls against four goals allowed in the win over Denver
- Earns her first Defensive Player of the Week award

Freshman of the Week?
Kate Tyack, Ohio State
M – Dublin, Ohio – Dublin Coffman – Major: Marketing
- Totaled four goals, five points, and a pair of draw controls as Ohio State claimed two wins last week
- Scored two goals on three shots in both games, as the Buckeyes downed Youngstown State and Akron
- Tallied her first career assist to go with two draw controls and a ground ball against Akron
- Earns her first Freshman of the Week award
