Northwestern, Maryland, and Johns Hopkins Score Women’s Lacrosse Weekly Awards

Wildcats’ Taylor and White join Terps’ Edmondson and Blue Jays’ Gonzalez with weekly honors

Offensive Player of the Week 
Madison Taylor, Northwestern
Jr. – A – Wantagh, N.Y. – Wantagh

  • Recorded 17 points on 12 goals and five draw controls, as the No. 3-ranked Wildcats claimed a pair of victories
  • Paired six goals and a pair of assists with two draw controls in a 15-6 win at No. 13 Michigan as Northwestern clinched the Big Ten championship
  • Added six goals, three assists, and three draw controls in the Wildcats’ regular season-ending 20-12 win at Ohio State
  • Scores her seventh Offensive Player of the Week honor and sixth of the season
  • Last Northwestern Offensive Player of the Week: Madison Taylor (April 15, 2025)

Midfielder of the Week
Kori Edmondson, Maryland
Sr. – M – Severn, Md. – McDonogh

  • Totaled six goals, five draw controls, four caused turnovers and four ground balls in a 2-0 week for No. 7 Maryland
  • Notched three goals, caused three turnovers, and scooped three ground balls in an 8-7 win at Rutgers
  • Added her second hat trick of the week to go with four draw controls in the Terps’ 13-11 win over No. 8 Johns Hopkins
  • Nabs her sixth career Midfielder of the Week award and fifth of the season
  • Last Maryland Midfielder of the Week: Kori Edmondson (April 1, 2025)

Defensive Player of the Week  
Sammy White, Northwestern
Sr. – D – Timonium, Md. – Dulaney

  • Tallied a goal, six caused turnovers and nine draw controls in a 2-0 week for No. 3 Northwestern
  • Paired four caused turnovers and three ground balls in a 15-6 win at No. 13 Michigan
  • Picked up two ground balls and caused two turnovers while snagging eight draw controls and scoring a goal in a 20-12 win at Ohio State
  • Earns her sixth career Defensive Player of the Week accolade and third of the season
  • Last Northwestern Defensive Player of the Week: Sammy White (April 8, 2025)

Freshman of the Week  
Laurel Gonzalez, Johns Hopkins
M – San Diego, Calif. – Torrey Pines

  • Paired three goals and 14 draw controls, as No. 9 Johns Hopkins split a pair of games
  • Scored a career-high two goals and controlled four draws in a come-from-behind overtime win versus Penn State
  • Recorded a goal and 11 draw controls in a 13-11 loss at No. 13 Maryland, breaking the program's single season draw control record
  • Notches her third Freshman of the Week award
