Michigan and Ohio State Garner First Weekly Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Awards of the Season
Wolverines’ Tapper and Buckeyes’ Webb score weekly honors
ROSEMONT, Ill. – The Big Ten Conference has announced its Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week for the week of March 18th-25th, 2026.
Track Athlete & Freshman of the Week
Kiara Webb, Ohio State
RS-Freshman – Sprints– Ontario, Canada – Major: Psychology
- Placed first out of 46 runners in the women’s 400m, finishing in 52.65
- Her time currently ranks third in the country and is best of any freshman in the NCAA
- Webb also was a part of a Buckeye 4x400m relay squad that placed seventh at the event
- Last Ohio State Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week award: Yanique Dayle (April 26, 2023)
- Marks Ohio State’s Outdoor Freshman of the Week award in program history
Field Athlete of the Week
Elizabeth Tapper, Michigan
Junior – Throws – Greensburg, Penn. – Major: Biomolecular Science
- Won the shot put at the UCF Black & Gold Challenge with a mark of 17.22m (56-6)
- Her mark is No. 3 in the NCAA and No. 1 in the Big Ten
- Last Michigan Field Athlete of the Week Award: Ameia Wilson (March 23, 2022)
