USC Sweeps First Weekly Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Awards of the Season
Trojans’ Erasmus and Mallard score weekly honors

ROSEMONT, Ill. – The Big Ten Conference has announced its Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week for the week of March 19-26, 2025.
Track Athlete of the Week
Christine Mallard, USC
Junior – Sprints– Mansfield, Texas – Major: Communication
- Won the 200m, ran on the winning 4x100m relay and placed third in the 100m dash and the 4x400m relay at the Trojan Invitational
- Mallard’s 200m time of 23.04 (+1.1) is NCAA-leading Her 100m time of 11.39 (-0.2) is tied for 12th on the NCAA descending order list
- This marks USC’s first Big Ten Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week award
Field Athlete & Freshman of the Week
Ashley Erasmus, USC
Freshman – Throws – Mbombela, South Africa – Major: Exploratory
- Set the USC women’s shot put record with a mark of 58-5.75 (17.82m) to earn first at the Trojan Invitational
- Her mark currently sits in first among NCAA throwers and fifth in the world
- Erasmus also placed second by an inch in the women’s discus throw
- This marks USC’s first Big Ten Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week award and Big Ten Outdoor Freshman of the Week award
