Iowa, UCLA and Washington Win Weekly Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Awards

ROSEMONT, Ill. – The Big Ten Conference has announced its Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week for the week of April 30-May 7, 2025.  

Track Athlete of the Week  
Naomi Johnson, UCLA 
Junior – Sprints – Eastvale, Calif. – Major: Communication 

• Johnson’s performance was crucial to UCLA’s sweep over USC in Sunday’s dual meet at Drake Stadium
• The sprinter set a trio of UCLA all-time top 10 times in the 4x100, 100m, and 200m
• Ran the second leg of UCLA’s school record 4x100 relay with a time of 43.03
• The relay currently ranks ninth in the NCAA and second in the Big Ten
• She scored in both the 100m dash (11.28) and 200m dash (22.91), winning the latter and securing the No. 8 time in school history in both events
• This marks UCLA’s first ever Big Ten Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week award 

Field Athlete of the Week 
Amanda Moll, Washington 
Sophomore - Pole Vault – Olympia, Wash. – Major: Business Administration 

• Broke the NCAA Outdoor Record in the pole vault after breaking the Indoor Record four times earlier this year
• To break the record, she cleared 15-7 ¼ (4.76m) to win the Desert Heat Classic in Tuscon
• Moll was named the USTFCCCA Women’s National Athlete of the Week on Monday
• This marks Washington’s first Big Ten Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week award 

Freshman of the Week 
Maria Arboleda, Iowa 
Freshman – Jumps – Valle Del Cauca, Colombia – Major: Psychology 

• Recorded a 6-2 (1.88m) high jump at the Musco Twilight
• Her mark was a facility and school record
• Arboleda currently has the second-best mark in the Big Ten, is the top-ranked freshman in the NCAA and sits fifth overall
• This marks Arboleda’s second Outdoor Freshman of the Week award. Last: (April 2, 2025)
