Nebraska and Wisconsin Earn Final Weekly Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Awards
Huskers' Ilves and Neighbors join Badgers’ Kesner with weekly honors
ROSEMONT, Ill. – The Big Ten Conference has announced its Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week for the week of May 7-14, 2025.
Track Athlete of the Week
Johanna Ilves, Nebraska
Senior – Sprints – Koeru, Estonia – Major: Agricultural Economics
- Claimed the 100mH title at the Ward Haylett Invite
- Her time of 13.7 is currently 18th best in the Big Ten this season
- Last Nebraska Track Athlete of the Week: Jessica Furlan (May 2, 2013)
Field Athlete of the Week
Taylor Kesner, Wisconsin
Senior - Throws – Highland, Ill. – Major: Community Environmental Sociology
- Won women’s discus at Augustana with a toss of 178-3 (54.35m)
- Her toss is sixth best in the Big Ten and 41st in the NCAA this season
- Last Wisconsin Field Athlete of the Week: Josie Schaefer (May 3, 2023)
Freshman of the Week
Jacelyn Neighbors
Freshman – Pole Vault – Fate, Texas – Major: Nutritional Sciences and Dietetics
- Won the pole vault title at the Ward Haylett invite
- Neighbors cleared 14-2 (4.32m) which was a new PR, third-best mark in school history, and third-best mark for a freshman in the NCAA
- This marks Nebraska’s first ever Outdoor Freshman of the Week award
