Minnesota, Iowa, Nebraska Earn Weekly Outdoor T&F Honors

ROSEMONT, Ill. – Minnesota junior Devin Augustine and freshman Charles Godfred, Iowa senior Mariel Bruxvoort and Nebraska senior Rhema Otabor have received Big Ten Weekly Honors for outdoor track and field competitions during the week of April 4-10, 2024.

Men’s Track Athlete of the Week

Devin Augustine, Minnesota

Junior – Sprinter – Point Fortin, Trinidad & Tobago

• Set a school record (20.37 seconds) in the 200M at the 44 Farms Team Invitational hosted by Texas A&M

• Clocked the sixth-fastest time in the NCAA this spring, and eclipsed the Gophers school record by seven-tenths of a second

• Won the 100M race in a personal-best 10.08 seconds, the top time by a Big Ten sprinter this season

Men’s Field Athlete of the Week

Charles Godfred, Minnesota

Freshman – Jumper – Ukana Mkpa Eyop, Nigeria

• Broke a 29-year-old school record in the long jump by nearly three inches at the 44 Farms Team Invitational hosted by Texas A&M

• Leaped 8.19M (26-10.5) to place second in the event with the nation’s second-best jump of the season

• Ran a 10.32 in the 100M, the fifth-fastest time in school history

Women’s Track Athlete of the Week

Mariel Bruxvoort, Iowa

Senior – Sprint/Hurdles – Grand Rapids, Mich. – South Christian – Accounting

• Won the 400M hurdles with a 57.68 time at the Jim Click Shootout hosted by the University of Arizona

• Ran the lead leg of the Hawkeyes 4x400M relay team which ran a school record 3:37.92 in the win

Women’s Field Athlete of the Week

Rhema Otabor, Nebraska

Senior – Thrower – Nassau, Bahamas – Actuarial Science

• Threw an NCAA-leading 191-10 (58.47M) in the javelin at the Jim Click Shootout hosted by the University of Arizona

• Led the Cornhuskers to a Top-4 sweep and won the event during her season debut
