Oregon, USC, and Washington Earn Weekly Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Honors
Ducks’ Cherotich, Trojans’ Garland, and Huskies’ Foerster collect weekly awards

ROSEMONT, Ill. – The Big Ten Conference has announced its Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week for the week of April 2-9, 2025.
Track Athlete of the Week
Chloe Foerster, USC
Junior – Distance- Portland, Ore. – Major: Biology
- Won both the 1500m and the 800m at the Stanford Invitational
- Set a PR of 4:07.32 in the 1500m which ranks fourth best in the NCAA
- Won the 800m by over three seconds with a time of 2:00.52 which is best in the NCAA this season and fastest in Washington history
- This marks Washington’s first Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week award
Field Athlete of the Week
Reese Garland, USC
Sophomore– Throws – Oak Park, Ill. – Major: Business
- Won the women’s discus throw with a PR of 181-11 (55.46m) at the Triton Invitational
- Her mark is best in the Big Ten this season and currently sits at 20th in the country
- Garland also took second in discus at Battle at the Beach and fourth in shot put
- Last USC Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week award: Ashley Erasmus (March 26, 2025)
Freshman of the Week
Diana Cherotich, Oregon
Freshman – Distance – Bungoma County, Kenya – Major: Undecided
- Won the 10,000m at the Stanford Invitational with a time of 31:45.22
- Cherotich broke the Oregon school record and became the No. 9 performer in collegiate history
- Her time is also currently first in the Big Ten and second in the NCAA this season
- This marks Oregon’s first Outdoor Freshman of the Week award
