Washington Wins 2025 Big Ten Rowing Championships
INDIANAPOLIS – Washington earned its first title as a member of the Big Ten Conference by winning the 2025 Big Ten Rowing Championships on Sunday. The Huskies swept the competition with first-place finishes in each of the Grand Finals at Eagle Creek Park in Indianapolis. It was also the first time the Big Ten Rowing Championships were aired live on the Big Ten Network.
Washington totaled a record-setting 264 points to beat out Rutgers (239 points) and Michigan (212 points). The Huskies are just the second program to win every race at the Big Ten Championships, joining Ohio State (2018).
Washington had three boats set championships records. The III Fours finished in 7:03.150 and the II Fours earned a record of their own with a winning time of 6:58.341. The I Fours clocked a time of 6:53.520 to round things out.
With Sunday’s win, Washington earns the conference’s automatic berth to the 2025 NCAA Rowing Championships, which will take place May 30-June 1 at Mercer Lake in West Windsor, N.J. The full field of this year’s NCAA Championships will be announced on Tuesday, May 20 via a streamed selection show at NCAA.com.
