Minnesota Sweeps Weekly Women’s Cross Country Awards

ROSEMONT, Ill. – The Big Ten Conference has announced its Women’s Cross Country weekly award winners for the week of Sept. 17-24, 2025.  

Athlete of the Week  
Taylor Isabel, Minnesota 
RS-Sophomore – Saint Paul, Minn. - Mounds View High School – Major: Biomedical Engineering 

• Finished 6^th at the 2025 Roy Griak Invitational with a time of 21:53.5 
• Her time was 60 seconds better than her 2024 time on the same course and improved from 51^st to 6^th overall 
• Her efforts helped the Gophers to a second-place team finish 
• Last Minnesota Athlete of the Week: Ali Weimer (Oct. 9, 2024) 

 
Freshman of the Week 
Norah Hushagen, Minnesota 
Freshman – Forest Lake, Minn. – Forest Lake High School – Major: Undecided 

• Was the top freshman finisher at the 2025 Roy Griak Invitational, placing 10^th in a 6k time of 22:11.4 
• Hushagen was third among the Minnesota lineup that finished second as a team 
• Marked the first time a Minnesota freshman finished top 10 at the Griak in at least 10 years 
• Last Minnesota Freshman of the Week: Isabelle Schmitz (Oct. 9, 2024)
