Minnesota Sweeps Weekly Women’s Cross Country Awards
Gophers’ Isabel and Hushagen earn weekly laurels
ROSEMONT, Ill. – The Big Ten Conference has announced its Women’s Cross Country weekly award winners for the week of Sept. 17-24, 2025.
Athlete of the Week
Taylor Isabel, Minnesota
RS-Sophomore – Saint Paul, Minn. - Mounds View High School – Major: Biomedical Engineering
- Finished 6th at the 2025 Roy Griak Invitational with a time of 21:53.5
- Her time was 60 seconds better than her 2024 time on the same course and improved from 51st to 6th overall
- Her efforts helped the Gophers to a second-place team finish
- Last Minnesota Athlete of the Week: Ali Weimer (Oct. 9, 2024)
Freshman of the Week
Norah Hushagen, Minnesota
Freshman – Forest Lake, Minn. – Forest Lake High School – Major: Undecided
- Was the top freshman finisher at the 2025 Roy Griak Invitational, placing 10th in a 6k time of 22:11.4
- Hushagen was third among the Minnesota lineup that finished second as a team
- Marked the first time a Minnesota freshman finished top 10 at the Griak in at least 10 years
- Last Minnesota Freshman of the Week: Isabelle Schmitz (Oct. 9, 2024)
