Ducks’ Cherotich claims weekly awards after dominant performance
ROSEMONT, Ill. – The Big Ten Conference has announced its Women’s Cross Country weekly awards winner for the week of Oct. 8- Oct. 15, 2025.
Athlete & Freshman of the Week
Diana Cherotich, Oregon
Freshman – Bungoma County, Kenya – St. Gregory Naiberi Secondary – Major: Undecided
- Cherotich won the women’s 6K at the 2025 Bill Dellinger Invite with a winning time of 18:58.9
- The freshman finished more than 40 seconds ahead of runner-up and teammate Juliet Cherubet
- Led the Ducks to a 1-2-3-4-6 finish and team title with 16 points
- Won the USTFCCCA D1 National Women’s Athlete of the Week on Monday
