Michigan State Sweeps Final Weekly Women’s Cross Country Honors

ROSEMONT, Ill. – The Big Ten Conference has announced its Women’s Cross Country weekly awards winner for the week of Oct. 22- Oct. 29, 2025.  

Athlete of the Week 
Sarah Forsyth, Michigan State 
Junior – Ann Arbor, Mich. – Ann Arbor Pioneer High School – Major: Communication 

• Finished first overall in the Eastern Michigan Classic 5k 
• Her time of 17:20.40 was a new personal best  
• Last Michigan State Athlete of the Week award: Katie Osika (Sept. 20, 2023) 

Freshman of the Week 
Madison Osterberg, Michigan State 
Freshman – Jackson, Mich. – Jackson Lumen Christi High School – Major: Kinesiology 

• Helped the Spartan women dominate the Eastern Michigan Classic with her first cross country 5k 
• Finished second overall with a time of 17:21.20 
• This marks Michigan State’s first Freshman of the Week award
