Penn State, Nebraska and Wisconsin Claim Cross Country Weekly Honors

ROSEMONT, Ill. – Penn State redshirt-freshman Nick Sloff claimed both Big Ten Weekly Honors for men’s cross country, while Nebraska sophomore Berlyn Schutz and Wisconsin freshman Nora Gremban earned recognition for women’s cross country.

Men’s Cross Country Athlete and Freshman of the Week
Nick Sloff, Penn State
R-Fr. – State College, Pa. – State College Area – Major: Architectural Engineering  

• Secured the first win of his career at the Dolan Duals with a 6K time of 17:55.1
• Was one of just two runners to finish the race in under 18 minutes

Women’s Cross Country Athlete of the Week
Berlyn Schutz, Nebraska
So. – Lincoln, Neb. – Lincoln East – Major: Undecided

• Won the individual title at the Augustana Twilight with a 5K time of 16:20.78, a career best
• Helped the Badgers claim the team title with 33 total points

Women’s Cross Country Freshman of the Week
Nora Gremban, Wisconsin
Fr. – Eagle River, Wis. – Northland Pines – Major: Undecided

• Led Wisconsin in her collegiate debut, finishing second at the Badger Classic in 21:13.1
• Was one of two Badgers to finish in the top-20
• Paced her team to a second-place finish with 38 total points
