Minnesota, Ohio State and Maryland Earn Cross Country Weekly Honors

Gophers’ Kohut-Jackson, Buckeyes’ Agnew and Terrapins’ Coats and Rogers recognized

ROSEMONT, Ill. – Minnesota graduate student Noah Kohut-Jackson and Ohio State redshirt-freshman Jack Agnew claimed Big Ten Weekly Honors for men’s cross country, while Maryland sophomore Rose Coats and freshman Eva Rogers were recognized for women’s cross country.

Men’s Cross Country Athlete of the Week
Noah Kohut-Jackson, Minnesota
Gr. – Ames, Iowa – Ames – Major: Psychology

  • Claimed his first career victory in a collegiate cross country meet, winning the 2024 Oz Memorial
  • Clocked a 5000m personal best time of 15:56.2 in the winning effort, taking first place by over eight seconds
  • Helped Minnesota to a team victory at the Oz Memorial

Men’s Cross Country Freshman of the Week
Jack Agnew, Ohio State
R-Fr. – Bellbrook, Ohio – Archbishop Carroll – Major: Exercise Science

  • Earned a second-place finish while leading the Buckeyes to the team title at the Tommy Evans Invitational
  • Completed the 6K race in 18:13.1, less than two seconds back of first place

Women’s Cross Country Athlete of the Week
Rose Coats, Maryland
So. – Brooklyn, N.Y. – Prospect Park – Major: Chemical Engineering

  • Paced Maryland to a first-place finish at the Salisbury Fall Classic 6K Meet to open the 2024 season
  • Finished first overall in the field of 116 runners with a time of 20:22.3, a personal best
  • Secured the first individual win of her career as she finished 37 seconds ahead of second place and 44 seconds ahead of third with an average mile time of 5:27.8

Women’s Cross Country Freshman of the Week
Eva Rogers, Maryland
Fr. – Odenton, Md. – Elizabeth Seton – Major: Letters & Sciences

  • Part of an all-Terrapin top-three finish at the Salisbury Fall Classic 6K Meet
  • Placed second overall in her first collegiate race with a time of 20:59.2
  • Averaged 5:37.7 per mile, which was just 10 seconds behind the individual winner
