Indiana, Ohio State, Penn State and Wisconsin Claim Big Ten Weekly Indoor Track & Field Honors

Men’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week
Distance Medley Relay, Indiana
• Set school and Big Ten records by crossing the line in 9:22.78 to finish third at the Alex Wilson Invitational
• The team included Camden Marshall (1,200 meters, 2:54.3), Kenny Benton (400 meters, 46.0), Parker Raymond (800 meters, 1:48.6) and Ben Veatch (mile, 3:53.95)
• Last Indiana Men’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week: Rikkoi Brathwaite (Dec. 15, 2021)
 
Women’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week
Anavia Battle, Ohio State
Gr. – Inkster, Mich. – Wayne Memorial

• Recorded the second-fastest women’s 200-meter time in the country this season (22.49) to win the event by more than half a second, setting a meet record and a new indoor personal best
• Also won the 60-meter race (7.25) after posting the fastest time in the preliminary rounds
• Now has six victories this season, more than double any other Buckeye
• Receives her fifth career Indoor Track Athlete of the Week honor and first of the season

Men’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week
Luke Knipe, Penn State
Jr. – Boalsburg, Pa. – State College
• Broke the Penn State pole vault record with a top vault of 5.31 meters (17 feet, 5 inches)
• Shattered his previous pole vault record, set at the Big Ten Championships last year
• Secures his first career Indoor Field Athlete of the Week selection
• Last Penn State Men’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week: David Lucas (Feb. 5, 2020)
 
Women’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week
Josie Schaefer, Wisconsin
Jr. – Baraboo, Wis. – Baraboo
• Tied and then broke her own school record in the shot put, reaching 18.14 meters (59 feet, 6.25 inches) with her fifth throw
• Ranks fourth nationally and third in the Big Ten this season
• Garners her second career Indoor Field Athlete of the Week award and first of the season
• Last Wisconsin Women’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week: Josie Schaefer (Jan. 20, 2021)
